Fantastic Christi Friesen workshop

Fantastic Christi Friesen workshop

I was very lucky to attend a polymer clay workshop with the fantastically fun Christi Friesen today. It was called ‘In the Garden’ and we whizzed through lots of different techniques and were overloaded with tips and techniques. And entertained at the same time! I don’t know how she manages it! Thank you Christi for such wonderful day! Look at all the things I made – yes in one day! Christi is a slave driver ;)It was great to see some good friends and meet some new ones and so great to be taught new polymer skills by...

Polymer clay demonstration in Hobbycrafts

Polymer clay demonstration in Hobbycrafts

Hello lovely blog readers! I have had a really nice day demonstrating some polymer clay techniques in my local Hobbycraft store. It was a casual demonstration where people could come and watch and ask questions rather than a more formal ‘talk’ at a set time. I met some lovely new people who were very interested to see what I was doing, hopefully some of them will catch the polymer clay bug and can take great pleasure in creating with it, like I do!Here’s my work area and me talking to the lovely Dawn Wilkins who did a great...

Catching up

Catching up

Hello. I hope you all had a good Easter break. We were away with the family in Scotland for 2 weeks so it’s all a bit manic here. My first job of the day is to work out what it is that actually needs to happen from this huge long list of jobs to do! I was lucky enough whilst travelling around Scotland to get to meet the lovely Chris Pellow. It’s great to actually meet people you know online! Unfortunately we didn’t manage to play with clay as time didn’t allow but I look forward to another visit sometime. If you...

Super shiny, super happy!

Super shiny, super happy!

So having done a workshop with the fabulous Melanie Muir (if ever you get a chance to take a class with her do!!) and seen the amazing finish on her jewellery, and watched her use her Foredom Bench Lathe to polish her cuff bracelets I just had to get one! I have been considering upgrading from my home made polishing mop on a dremel for some time but was thinking of getting a bench grinder and buying a spindle. Having seen the Foredom in action, it struck me it was very quiet and the speed is variable which I think is useful and I decided it...
