Polymania UK
There aren’t any current plans for a Polymania UK event as things are still rather uncertain.
Polymania UK 2021 was a virtual event – held safely online. . As usual priority booking was given to previous attendees and mailing list subscribers – you can join the UK Polymer Clay Workshops mailing list here.
Cane Covered Fish Sculpture with Adam Thomas Rees
In this class, we will use polymer clay to do something a little different. Together, and with step-by-step instructions, we will make a fish and a fish scale cane that we will reduce and recombine to cover our fishes. Leave this class with a finished piece of sculpture and add something new to your polymer clay repertoire!

Nature Walk; Birch Twigs, Feathery Grass, and Mushrooms Workshop Description with Jana Roberts Benzon
Surprisingly realistic birch twigs, grass and mushrooms, are on our Nature Walk Workshop trail guide (“Bundled Treasure”, shown below, features the items you’ll learn how to create). Students will learn, step by simple step, to create these life-like items using out of the box tools and techniques. The techniques taught in this workshop are all innovative and new – they needed to be to accomplish these realistic pieces without the use of paints! These new skills will easily adapt to other clay “ventures” and will widely expand the student’s claying options and skill set.In the workshop, each student will have the opportunity to create “stand alone” nature components or incorporate them into a pendant or brooch pin. Students will also learn my nifty trick for professionally setting a pinback or bail, and how to speedily apply a “museum quality” backing to their pieces.

Swing Pendant with Noelia Contreras Martin
Let’s escape from the fixed, static and immutable, building with clay something variable, mobile and interchangeable. In this course we will create a structure with a guide that will allow us to slide different pendants that we will also make reversible. We will work on different techniques to build the pendants and assemble the hooking mechanisms. We will use patinas to mute colours, silk screens as central decorations, cuts and substitutions in clay sheets… Once the project is finished we will have an anchor to slide our reversible pendants with all the combinations we want.
