You may have noticed I have been unusually quiet this last week. We have been on a holiday visiting friends and relatives all over the country. Just spoken with the birthday girl who recieved her cake forks in the post today. Needless to say she was delighted with them! Slightly unfortunately she also happened to recieve another set of cake forks for her birthday – what are the chances of that? Of course they weren’t unique handcrafted ones.

So I reduced the Paisley cane today (half way through writing the post just waiting on the pictures) and am ready to start on putting together the polymer clay ‘fabric’ to coat the cake forks with. I have talked to my husband before about my lack of skill at cutting even slices from canes and shown him a picture of some of the cane cutting tools you can buy (in America but not easily in the UK of course). I have been busy playing with clay all day. I have almost finished a paisley cane, not sure how I am going to reduce it yet. I look forward to sharing it with you in the morning – too tired now!

I am off to hospital today for an operation to remove some lumps growing on my foot. I am hoping to be back making polymer clay things soon and i really will post some photos.
