Beginners workshop

I have just been trialling a beginners polymer clay workshop with some of my friends. I was aiming for them to make a bracelet like this from simple cane slices, threaded on elastic. We have had great fun and they are all really pleased with their creations but we haven’t quite managed to get to the bracelet stage so I either need to find a way to speed it up or make the class longer. I am doing them from home which seems to work out well as we have the space and it’s comfortable and I can’t forget to bring anything!!!...

Charming

Charming

A friend of mine was admiring my charm bracelet but doesn’t wear bracelets so asked me to make a necklace for her. The original idea was to just add a bit of chain to either end of a bracelet but I made the charm section quite a bit longer in the end so it didn’t look ‘mean’. There are 6 different types of pearl and crystal beads in turquoise and green to pick out the colours on the petals. I am pleased with how it turned out (although I think I may have found a possible improvement, yes it could be even better lol...

I can see images from artists from all over the world. There are thousands of groups for anything and everything but there...

One bead three colour ways

One bead three colour ways

I did a little experiment today to see how the colours looked with these ‘Natalia’ beads. The top row has green inside the second row has turquoise inside and the bottom row is the 2 beads alternatively stung so 1 green inside, 1 turquoise inside etc.I thought there would be more visiual difference between the 3 different colourways. They are different but on first glance it’s not apparent as it’s the overall colours you see not their placement. Nice to know I don’t have to think about it so hard in future...
