‘Versa-Tile Cane’
Happy New Year! I hope 2019 is a great year for all of you.
I am looking forward to an exciting year with lots of things planned. The first of which is teaching in Rome as part of the Euro Clay Carnival event in February. I can’t wait! It should be a lot of fun. There are 5 workshops with Donna Kato, Eva Haskova, Paola Mattioli, Fabiola Pérez Ajates and me. It will be great to see old friends and I am sure make some new ones.
My project is the ‘Versa-tile’ Cane. It is one cane that can be put together many different ways to give slightly different patterns. The main 5 variations are shown in the turquoise pendants.
Originally I thought they would be individual pendants but when I put them altogether for a photograph I decided they made a nice necklace. Each pendant is about 10 cm long so it is certainly an impressive necklace with all 5 pendants! The way I have made the bail at the back from polymer clay means you can easily swap them around or take one off to wear on it’s own.
I’ve made a few other colour variations, here is a orange and yellow cane with a touch of a russet red.
I didn’t do very well with sharing what I was up to last year. I shall try and share more this year both here, on Facebook and also on Instagram. Feel free to give me a nudge if I go quiet again!
