3 day polymer clay workshop at the 4 star Mercure Holland House Hotel and Spa, Redcliffe Hill, Bristol, BS1 6SQ, UK on 10-12th March 2017.
There will be 3 different workshops at Polymania UK 2017:
Jana Roberts Benzon ‘Into the Abstract’
In this exciting workshop, you’ll do double duty: having fun, and adding invaluable techniques and skills to your polymer knowledge arsenal! These funky, abstract brooch pins are a riot to make in and of themselves, but the bonus is that at the same time, you’ll learn new and innovative construction skills which will come in handy as you experiment with your polymer work at home.
Nikolina Otržan ‘Polygons’
Melanie Muir ‘Mid Century Modern’
Join internationally award winning designer and teacher, Melanie Muir Jewellery Design, for a trip back in time to the ‘Mid Century Modern’ era. Learn new mokume gane monochrome techniques which you can combine with your own favourite colour palette to make pendants and earrings similar to those pictured. Discover how to create the front, back and perfect frame for these bold pieces in ONE step baking! Explore further, with ‘how to’s’ demoing Melanie’s new engineered joining techniques for earrings and more complex necklaces. Also includes quick and easy perfect finishing.
The price for this is event is £330 per person. Included in the price are 3 full day workshops, one with Jana Roberts Benzon and one with Nikolina Otrzan and one with Melanie Muir. There will be a range of refreshments available throughout each day and a hot and cold 3 course buffet lunch which will be served in the hotel restaurant so we don’t get crumbs on our clay!
The Mercure Holland House Hotel and Spa is a lovely hotel not far from the centre of Bristol. It is a 10 minute walk from the Bristol Temple Meads railway station and the airport bus stops just around the corner on Redcliffe Way. We will have access to the event suite until 11pm each night for those of you who want to carry on after the teaching has finished! There is free wi-fi throughout the hotel.
The hotel has reserved some rooms for us until January 10th 2017 which can be booked direct with the hotel (see booking form). The rate for booking this way is £99 per night bed and breakfast for a single occupancy and £115 a night bed and breakfast for twin occupancy. There are a slightly limited number of twin rooms so if you want to share with a friend we advise you book early! If you want to share a room and don’t have someone to share with get in touch and we will see if we can pair you up. Please note after January 10th the rooms reserved for us will be released to the general public and any further bookings will no longer be available at that price they will be at standard room price which last year was a lot higher!
We will have a cane swap on the Friday night along with some demonstrations related to jewellery making other than polymer clay. More details will follow.
On Saturday night there will be a teachers sale and then a group meal. It should be a great weekend full of fun and lots of polymer clay !
